How many times have you been to London?

I have been to London a total of six times: 1985, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2005 (including 7/7/05), 2007. I'm also going back for trip #7 in October of this year.

I was supposed to be in London in June--when the failed car bombs were discovered. I'm a summer London jinx, I think. Won't go back in late June/early July for many years to come.

What is your favorite...

Food: lima beans
Color: Navy blue

Are you really going to get a tatoo of Bubblehead on your ass?

Not fucking likely.

I am going to get a tatoo when I turn 40. The look on my mother-in-law's face when I told her this was priceless, btw.

What is the maximum effective range of the M-16A2 rifle?

Whatever mr. kim says it is.

Who is on your myspace with you?

If you see a picture of me with a teen-ager, it's 99.9 percent likely to be a student of mine. The current photo (me on the Tube) is with a sophomore that went to London with me this spring (I don't think you know her, bravie). The other kids on my myspace are also students unless otherwise indicated.

Who is the best cook in your house--chocolate chip cookies, etc.

That? Would be my husband. I am not a cook. He? makes killer chocolate chip cookies (mine are not fit to eat) as well as awesome steak or grilled chicken, cream of wheat and lima beans.

Is your daughter a dog?

Yes, yes she is. A Border Collie named Emma. We were going to name Five "Emma", but he was a boy. And then we had two more boys, so I finally conceded that there would be no girl child and I decided to use my girl name on our dog. It suits her perfectly, blessherheart.

And I'm glad that I didn't have a girl child--they scare me.

What can I call you?

I answer to:

Kim
Mrs. W--------- (if you know the last name)
Mom
Mommy
Mama
Kimmah
Anotherkim
Kimbo
Kimbly A----- (again, if you know the name)
Kim Kimmidy
Mrs. Mom
W-----(if you know the last name)

If you call me Kimma? I'll think you're a bit simple. If you call me Kimmy? I probably won't answer. If you call me Bitch, then you know me too well.

What is your most favorite thing to teach?

Serious moment--seriously, the most favorite is to think for themselves and to develop an opinion--good, bad or ugly--and defend it.

My favorite THING to teach, though, is probably either Canterbury Tales or improv. We have a lot of fun with both.

Five beauty products you could not live without

I'm going from a consumable angle here--not an electronic one.

  1. Tigi Bedhead Control Freak---I don't use it every day, but I love it for when I want my hair to be more controlled and not use hairspray.
  2. Dove moisturizers--Cheap, good, gentle. I'm not one to spend a bunch of cash on face stuff--I was blessed with good skin, so I don't have to splurge on the big ticket stuff.
  3. Max Factor Lash Perfection--it's the best mascara at a drugstore, IMO, and it's the only waterproof formula that doesn't give me spider lashes or make my eyes itch.
  4. Milani eyeshadow--you can't buy anything cheaper that has better pigment, more gorgeous colors or that lasts longer. It is comparable to MAC pigments, IMO, but a helluva lot cheaper.
  5. Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss--any shade, love every one except the bubble gum pink with glitter in it, but that's just because I'm too old for it. Again, you cannot beat the price. I love Stila's gloss, but they are $17 a tube vs. Revlon $6.99. Even the math challenged among us can figure that one out.

What color would you want your hair to be if it wasn't red?

Blonde. I was blonde as a child and only actually ever ended up with red hair because I tried to make it blonder on my own, without resorting to bleach, and it went very copper on me. After awhile, I just got used to it. Now I forget that it hasn't always been this color, which is funny because when I see people from the pre-red days, they always comment on the hair color.

I told w. the other day that I am seriously considering going blonde or at least much lighter, but I'm not sure I would try that at home.

What color is your hair naturally?

I have no idea. Some unfortunate shade of brown that is too dark and too laden with gray.

What subjects and grades do you teach?

An easy question--i like easy questions! thank you, momma.

I teach 9th and 12th grade English as well as Theatre arts I and Theatre Arts II. The theatre classes are aimed at 11th and 12th grade students.
